AvidCat.com was started on January 1, 2005. "Avid Cat" is our mascot and website name. The name was chosen to bring a fun and re memorable name for our visitors.

 

In 2007 we gave away 100 t-shirts in a daily contest on our site. This was to help advertise our website and the sponsors of the t-shirts. We also advertise Avid Cat on Google and various websites that we come across.

 

Avid Cat is a worldwide business directory, though most of the businesses on Avid Cat are from the U.S. and Canada. As Avid Cat grows larger we are seeing more and more sites from all different selling venues on the internet. Though website's are one of the most popular venues for a store, we see a great many stores from sites such as eBay, Yahoo, eCrater & quite a few others.

 

We recently added several hundreds more categories to our directory. This was from a huge response that we needed more categories to meet the needs of the hundreds of different types of businesses around the world. Currently we have close to 800 categories.
